Clinic Policies

Our monthly clinics are offered with the intention of making thai massage more accessible to our community by providing bodywork sessions in a group setting at a sliding scale rate. We ask that clinic participants pay what they truly can afford, wherever that falls along our $45 - $85 sliding scale. Our clinics are staffed by independent massage therapists from Akasa and our local community who donate their time and services at a significantly reduced rate. Out of respect for our therapists and all clinic participants, we ask that you agree to adhere to the following clinic policies:

  • We ask that all clinic participants limit themselves to one clinic session per month.

  • While our clinics are offered in a group setting, we do ask that participants aim to keep a quiet, relaxing environment for everyone by minimizing conversation, turning off phones, avoiding late arrivals and anything else that might be disruptive within the clinic space.

  • If you need to change or cancel your clinic appointment, please give us at least 24 hour notice.

  • Late cancellations and no shows will be billed the minimum donation of $45. This payment must be made before booking again for another clinic. Exceptions may be made at the discretion of our clinic therapists.

  • After 2 no shows or late cancellations, a client will no longer be allowed to schedule with our clinic

  • Our clinic is only able to accept cash payment.

Massage Waiver

You have chosen to receive massage therapy for your personal well being.  You agree to communicate with your therapist about any issues, physical or otherwise (including but not limited to illness, surgery, injury, bruises, open wounds, etc.,) that he/she may need to know in order to conduct treatment safely and effectively. Massage therapists do not diagnose illness, disease or mental disorder; they also do not prescribe medical treatment, pharmaceuticals or perform spinal thrust manipulations. All information provided to Akasa Thai Healing Arts and your therapist is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge.

Your therapist may, with your permission, utilize a variety of Thai tools and techniques, including, but not limited to, balms, liniments, cupping, scraping, and hot herbal compresses. There is an unlikely possibility of burns, bruising or marking. It is your responsibility to communicate with your therapist as soon as anything you experience is uncomfortable.

By signing your name below you release Akasa Thai Healing Arts, the independent therapists providing massage in this community clinic and all people and businesses associated with Akasa Thai Healing Arts from any liability concerning your well being during, and as a result of, your treatments.

You will be asked to sign this waiver when you schedule your appointment as well as when you sign in at the clinic.
